Crossrail Concrete Mixing and Distribution Train

Hi

A visit to Infrarail today found a newly imported concrete train working on Crossrail between Custom House and Prince Regent. The train was very slowly propelling towards Custom House as concrete was pumped through it.

The train is numbered in order with fleet numbers from 1-17 although vehicle 9 which should be another top loading bogie aggregatehopper was absent today. Full details, and from what we could deduce a brief description of each vehicle is set out below.

From west to east the formation of the train was:

Vehicle 1 - 33 87 4729 025-6 - a workshop and store van (no fleet number);

Vehicle 2 - fleet number MR01 - a bogie concrete pump wagon (which carries no euro number on at least the side which was visible);

Vehicle 3 - fleet number WST02 (99879 383 817- ) - a conveyor/screen wagon

Vehicle 4 - fleet number MIX03 (99879 387 506-4) a concrete mixer wagon.

Vehicles 4 and 5 - fleet numbers CEM04 (99879 350501-2) and CEM05 (99879 350513-7) both cement storage tanks.

Vehicle 6 - fleet number NRJ06 (99879 384513-8) a generator wagon.

Vehicle 7 - fleet number WAT07 (99879 350514-6) a water tank wagon.

Vehicle 8 - fleet number AGT08 (99879 353 503-4) a top loading aggregate press flow tank.

Vehicle 9 - fleet number AGT10 (99879 353506-8) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 10 - fleet number AGT11 (99879 383791-0) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 11 - fleet number AGT12 (99879 383832- ) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 12 - fleet number AGT13 (99879 353513-2) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 13 - fleet number AGT14 (99879 353512-6) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 14 - fleet number AGT15 (99879 383838-6) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 15 - fleet number AGT16 (99879 353509-2) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 16 - fleet number AGT17 (99879 383805-8) as vehicle 8

Vehicle 17 - the Tracmobile already on the site.

Vehicle 18 - KFA 93387 fitted with generator modules.

Finally 66767/771 providing power.

Apologies, the Gremlins crept into the first posting. The details of the vehicles should actually have read:

Vehicle 1 - 33 87 4729 025-6 - a workshop and store van (no fleet number);

Vehicle 2 - fleet number MR01 - a bogie concrete pump wagon (which carries no euro number on at least the side which was visible);

Vehicle 4 - fleet number MIX03 (99879 387 506-8) a concrete mixer wagon.

Vehicles 4 and 5 - fleet numbers CEM04 (99879 350501-2) and CEM05 (99879 350513-7) both cement storage tanks.

Vehicle 6 - fleet number NRJ06 (99879 384513-7) a generator wagon.

Vehicle 7 - fleet number WAT07 (99879 350514-5) a water tank wagon.

Vehicle 8 - fleet number AGT08 (99879 353503-5) a top loading aggregate press flow tank.

Nick, I'm amazed you managed to get all those numbers without being on site!

I can confirm a few points, and a few others I should be able to find out.

Vehicle 1 - 33 87 4729 025-6 - a welfare and store van (Fleet number Wel 00);

Vehicle 2 - fleet number MR01 - I don't have a euro number for this either, will have a good look.

Vehicle 4 - fleet number MIX03 (99879 387 506-8) - I have a different Euro number, will check

Vehicle 6 - fleet number NRJ06 (99879 384503-8) <- Euro number corrected,

Vehicle 7 - fleet number WAT07 (99879 350514-5 - I have a different Euro number, will check

Vehicle 12 - fleet number AGT13 (99879 353513-4) - I have a different Euro number, will check

AGT09 (99879353507-6) in store at Plumstead

AGT18 (99879383801-7) in store at Plumstead

AGT19 (99879353510-1) in store at Plumstead

Vehicle 18 - KFA 93387 - a welfare wagon. The welfare wagons have seating, a small kitchen and toilet.

Hope that helps, should have an update by end of the week :)

Hi 01276

Many thanks for the additional information and corrections - I am not at all surprised that there were a few issues!

The fleet numbers were obtained relatively easily by walking along the adjacent road between Custom House and Prince Regent, the numbers being located just below the roof lines of the vehicles. The Euro Numbers were much more problematic, requiring copious round trips between the two stations to get them all and tally them with the fleet numbers. I guess we had value for money from our Travelcards that day!

Nick (and Mods),

Went round the yard and managed to confirm 19/22 of the numbers for the train - I did find a few more corrections from the previous list I had which is where my last reply with corrections came from.

Below is a full list of all wagons involved in this train, hopefully it won't get to scrambled which i click submit. I am also tallying up all the other wagons in use on Crossrail, not sure if they come under 'on track plant' though!

Thanks guys, I've put these details onto the "Crossrail" list.

I assume/hope the modules on the flats don't get swapped around?...

Just submitted a few photos of the aggregate wagons I had. These units are fully built onto the wagons rather than modules so not possible to swap. Welfare unit containers could be swapped but very unlikely.
