Commercial Quarry with no public access. However, most of the stock present can be seen from the cyclepath which runs next to the railway.

Directions

Take the A30 west from Exeter and leave at the A386 junction (near Okehampton). Turn right on to the A386 and take the second right which is a minor road (signposted Meldon). Turn left at the junction with the B3260 and a right turn to Meldon Quarry is signposted a bit further on.

Continue up this road and park just before the 'No unauthorised vehicles beyond this point' sign. A public footpath on the left leads to the station (5 mins walk)

Usual machines

DR98303, 519 (Matisa 6295), 2 ballast packers & 3 wickham trolleys were all present in June 2003.
