This is named after a driver of this machine who passed away during his sleep after finishing a nights work.
The tamper was taken by road to Canvey Island in Essex, and it just made it to the football ground due to the narrow roads. Alan Jenkins was a fanatical Canvey Island supporter. The machine was named by his wife and the head of TransPlant.
It is the first vechicle for many years that London Underground has named.
