Were you at Bristol in th 80s and 90s Colin?
Seems a familiar name.
I went driving trains in 1992 from the Taunton depot.
Probably conducted your crews on the S7C tamper

Did this machine, or 6224 or 6266 ever carry DR or DX numbers in the CEPS series?

No - only 6226 was a BR machine (77106)

I assume it is an ECT / RMS Locotec owned machine - hence the move the Weardale.
