What exactly are we looking at here - as this looks like a flat with a hi-ab style crane on it with a Jones type road crane behind it? or are my eyes not working this morning?

Hmm good point - I didnt notice that either! But I reckon you are right - the left yellow cab does seem to belong to one of those road cranes and is parked behind it!

Does anyone know the history of this wagon? I have no books to hand and my memory isn't that good (!) was this previously a Plasser & Theurer EPV 360 Excavator type (96504 etc) or was this just a one-off conversion from a wagon?

My toughts as well, looks as though the hiab can travel along the wagon bed in the white painted channels along the top of the wagon..

Apparently the HAP unit could move up and down the length of the wagon in the same manner as a brick delivery truck.

... making this wagon a relitively simple but extremly versatile piece of kit I would have thought.

This was a bogie E with the Hap crane, I have pics of it in red as S&T KDB924203, which I have modelled in 4mm. Can't find pics at the monment.
