does anybody know the overall length of these as I fancy modelling a pair and I think a Hornby pacer chassis would make a good starting point

the geismar tramms used by amec/colas u could get a 60ft rail up the side as it had lilttle flaps by the headlights but the plasser tramms like above are avout 65-70 ft roughly

One slight point
A pacer is a 4 wheel vehicle on 2 axles and the tramm is on 2 x 2 axle bogies per vehicle
Still think the chassis will be suitable?

Not sure what bryan is trying to say but the pacer chassis is most suitable as the wheel configaration is correct I.E. 2 single axle units as these tramms do not have bogies. There total length over buffers is 29 meters so each unit would be 14.5 meters.

My mistake I thought they were bogie vehicles.

I have general arrangement diagrams of both mark 3 & 5 versions, plus measurements I took of various machines at Ashford, and some pages out of a Plasser manual showing various elevations.
e-mail me for scans. Someone was working on a 4mm kit for these but it has gone cold for the last 2 years.
