Thanks to the cooperation of John Holmes of the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway, this hitherto unidentified Wickham trolley can now be confirmed as Wickham 1949 despatched new on 28/6/1935 to the LNER at Ipswich. The trolley's JAP engine is stamped DTZ/R 46714/S, which was that fitted new to Wickham 1949, so, unless there has been an engine change during its life, it is good to be able to identify the vehicle after 30 plus years in preservation.

I used to overhaul these as an apprentice at the Road Motor Engineer's Department in Queen St York in 1962/63
