A round-up of on-track plant, road-railer and trailer news from March 2014.
Bridgeway Railcare
Bridgeway Railcare's second RA7 vacuum machine arrived in the country at the end of March. It was sent to the Midland Railway Centre for trials before starting work in the Midlands a few days later.
Fastline
The final Fastline machine on the network has been dealt with. DR73428, which has been stored in Glasgow since Jarvis's demise in 2010, was sent to EMR Kingsbury during March.
Network Rail
Two more Windhoff OHL MPVs were delivered during the month - 99-70-9131-012 and 99-70-9131-013 went to Derby for tests before moving to High Marnham.
Nexus Rail
Nexus Rail's new Plasser & Theurer 08-275NX S&C tamper was delivered at the beginning of the month.
Readypower
Two more Manitou ART17T access platforms joined Readypower's fleet during March. These are the second/third of an order for ten.
Rexquote
A new Komatsu PW160 has been noted at Rexquote's factory in Somerset, along with several new Genies & T12 trailers for ABC Electrification.
Story Contracting
Several of the ex-Caledonian fleet have started to gain Story fleet numbers, generally in the format of 11##-##, where the final two digits are the previous Caledonian identities. If you see any numbers in the new format, please let us know so we can update our lists. Thanks!
Also joining the fleet is a Liebherr A900 with fleet number 1100. Further details are not yet known, but it is thought to be an ex-Murphy machine.
