That's interesting - presumably for dust suppression? Wonder if the wagons still function as through conveyors as if not it seems an odd thing to do.
Yes, I think they still have conveyors.
There was a dust suppression trial a few years ago using standard flat wagons with modular water tanks on, so guess this* is the evolution of that trial.
(*the first batch of four similarly converted conveyor/tank wagons was released in May - 92473-92476)
Interesting thanks, looking at my notes the first batch in May are assigned to HOBCS3, this set just released are assigned to HOBCS4, so I guess some of the HOBSC5 MFS (92908-92943) could follow next.
