Hi Vince

Thanks for list I have checked against my list and I dont yet have any of the missing euro numbers, but if I get any I will email you. I noticed your list does not have the two Second Engineering r/rs which are not as yet listed with euro numbers on website.

Have I gone temporarily blind or has the euro number list per machine been removed? I always found this quite a useful feature to trace a machine by its euro number rather than trawling through company lists

Keith - I have excluded a few machines from the list that are unlikely to carry RIV numbers - such as those that are now decomissioned, preserved, or operate on smaller railways. This includes your example and other similar small companies.

Lee - as you've found out, the old euro-lists are now in the RR section - hopefully it will make it more visible to people. The lists now also highlight "missing" numbers in the categories.

Hi Vince - in hindsight I still think it might be good to have all the euro numbers in the one location, at present there is a list for the R/R machines whilst the remainder I assume are in the machine lists under sightings. Personally I think it would be a good idea to have them all in the one location as it certainly helps to identify a machine, whether it be R/R or small plant, when only a euro number is known.

Hi Lee - I'm trying to think of a way to reinstate the previous OTM RIV list. In the meantime, individual machines can be found using the search box at the top-right of the page...

L&W have for some reason applied euro numbers to certain civils machines in their fleet; ie without rail wheels. Euro numbers I am aware of which have been applied to non-rail machines include 940356-0, 911187 - 911193.

Lee, that is correct. However 940356 should I believe be 943056. Also 914077 was/is allocated to a road only Cat D3 dozer.

Further to Lee's message, I've moved the RIV lists to an entirely new section - RIV Numbered Vehicles. These lists now show both OTP and RRs...

Cheers Vince. Further to Nick's comments I have a notion that 914078 is another L&W dozer without rail wheels.

In case anyone is reading all this/looking at the RIV section and wondering what all of the numbers actually mean, I've added a little description about the numbers. Also included is a little tool to calculate check-digits...

Lee, I am not sure that 914078 is an L & W machine. Whilst they used to have several dozers, I believe that only the D3GXL remains owned, although stand to be corrected.

Nick, I'll stand by my comment that 914078 is a non-rail D4H Dozer. It's been a while since I've seen it so may well have been disposed of.
