Me and Hornby Dublo thought these were red, has anyone got any detailed information on the colour please.

i believe that cranes were painted red in the early seventies and before however thay were painted black prior to that, judging from the BR totem they were black in the fifties

Thanks Ian that's great information, Our model is based on the fifties so now we can get rid of that big red monster that dominated the north sidings.
