Good Evening, I saw the Drain Train this afternoon with the Class 20s at Stowmarket Sidings.

What exactly is the Drain Train. Is it similar to the Railvac? I know it sounds simple, but what does it do?

Provides drain jetting and cleaning and has suction ability to clean blockages.

The Railcare railvacs are for predominantly for wet bed removal, so excavation of ballast and spoil around the sleepers and rail. The drain train is for catchpit, gully and drainage jetting and clearing as Robin said.
