I think I'm correct in saying that eight WH Davis Sleeper Carrying Wagons, DR92603, DR92607, DR92623, DR92624, DR92631, DR92633, DR92638, DR92649, that were offerred for sale in 8/23 have never been traced.

Does anyone have any clues as to what has become of these?

Sightings on OTPNET ontrackplant.com suggest they were at Carlisle Yard in 8/23 but the possibly of TOPS reports rather than eyeball confirmations being submitted rears its head.

I have been forwarded a report of a visit to Whitemoss Quarry which lists all the WH Davis Sleeper Carrying and Barrier/Workshop Wagons listed as Land Recovery on here. There were also nine wagons which couldn't be identified. These could be some or all of the missing ones but could also be something else completely. Perhaps if anyone else has a list of what wagons they believe to be at Whitemoss Quarry they can make it available for comparison.

115 of these wagons were built by WH Davis. DR92601 - DR92665 & 31 70 4629 001-x - 31 70 4629 050-x. Eight subsequently being converted to Barrier/Workshop wagons (DR92634/39/44-48/50 - see seperate topic), leaving 107. 60 have now been offerred for sale, 38 in 2023 and 22 in 2025.

The first batch offerred for sale in 2023 were DR92611/13/14/36 at March and DR92626 at Harwich.

The second batch offerred for sale later in 2023 were 12 at Harwich and 21 at Kingmoor. Of those at Kingmoor 8 were offerred minus bogies. No numbers were given on the tender document, however, references on here suggest someone established some of the numbers, presumably either by requesting them or visiting the locations. Can anyone post the numbers and where they were located.

Very careful analysis of recent drone footage of Whitemoss Quary reveals that 38 of these wagons (+ four barrier wagon conversions) are present. Thus reasonable to presume that the 38 offerred for sale in 2023 have gone to Whitemoss Quarry.

The visit to Whitemoss Quary confirmed DR92602/05/06/08/09/11/12/13/14/15/18/20/21/22/25/26/27/28/29/30/32/35/36/37/55/65, 31 70 4629 004-3/025-8 to be present, a total of 28, leaving the identities of the other ten to be confirmed. Possibly the eight that haven't been traced are amongst these along with two others, DR92601 and 31 70 4629 031-6 would appear to be prime candidates.

Further analysis of submitted sightings suggests those offerred for sale later in 2023 at Harwich & Kingmoor were likely to have been:-

Harwich - DR92601/02/05/06/09/35/37/55/65, 31 70 4629 004-3/025-8/031-6

Kingmoor - DR92603/07/08/12/15/18/20/21/22/23/24/25/27/28/29/30/31/32/33/38/49

All now likely to be at Whitemoss Quarry
