DR 76217
6th May 2007 - thanks to Roy Hennefer for this article

This has been dumped at Duddeston for nearly 15 years. At the end of April 2007 the scrap man finally arrived...
This now leaves DR76216 at Guide Bridge as the sole survivor of it's class. But for how long?...

What sort of condition is DR76216 in?

Not sure - don't really get many reports from that way. Heck, it could even be scrapped.
Someone must know though...

Fastline now own at least 3 unique survivors....
76216
77402
77701
I wonder if anyone approached them, if they would be willing to donate any of them (or sell at a reduced cost) to preservation?

It seems my article was slightly premature!
Phil - you mean "four" - don't forget 77601! I'd dearly love to save some of these rare machines, but funds dictacte otherwise :( I think we need to sell about a billion calendars before we can afford the transport on something on that size.
And further to my comment about 76216 - I got a photo today and it's still intact. I'll put it on site soon...

This could go on forever. How about 75001, 75203, 78123(can't remember if this is Fastline owned), 78206, 79105 and probably loads more...

If anyone wants to contribute to help us try to save any of the above machine, or to be honest - any OTP or DPT stock, please use the contact button.

Both DR 76217 and 975413 still present 26/05/07 no further cutting having taken place. Bit of a mess with even some of the scrap metal still dumped nearby.

Went past today for the first time in two weeks and a little more cutting appears to have taken place, but not much.

I think I was slightly premature with this article - oops! Ah well, it's better than no news at all...

Passed 76217 on the 18th October at 17:00 whereby a road crane was preparing to lift onto a low-loader. Does anybody know where to?
When passing this morning, no sign of 76217.

Interestingly, the match wagon for this machine, 975413 has arrived at Booths, Rotherham over the last week. Did the remains of DR76217 move there too?

To answer my own question, the answer appears to be "yes".
