Machine Update

Another few months have passed since the last update, and another few things have happened.

New machines

Two new machines have arrived for Network Rail since the last update.

73113, another Plasser 09-3X-D-RT Tamper / Liner / Dynamic Track Stabilisers for Network Rail arrived at Wembley in late September.

77903 is Network Rails first Plasser & Theurer USP 5000RT Ballast Regulator. It arrived in the UK at the start of September. The build number is 796 of 2005

Caillion have taken delivery of 81612, a Kirow KRC1200UK crane.

Preservation

The Midland Railway Centre has acquired several machines from Balfour Beatty. This includes Geismar MRT2 Sleeper Changer XRP2121, Permaquip Ballast Packers BP065 and BP066, and the unique Raynesway Trolley with Crane - RT1.

The Swindon & Cricklade Railway have purchased Plasser & Theurer TASC 98504 from Carillion. It moved to its new home at the start of October.

Permaquip Ballast Packers BP013 and BP030 moved from the South Tynedale Railway to the Leighton Buzzard Light Railway. It is planned that they will rebuilt into a single 2' gauge machine.

Disposals

The unique Blatchford Linercrane F93100, and Permaquip PCT 98708 were scrapped at Woking during August.

73275 moved to Sandbach from Crewe OTPD for scrapping in August.

98203 was recently scrapped at Stoke-on-Trent by HNRC.

72014 is thought to have been scrapped at the Midland Railway Centre. It hasn't been noted since May 2004.
