Network Rail Selling Fleet of High Output Tampers and Ballast Regulators

Network Rail have put their fleet of high output tampers and ballast regulators up for sale via their competitive tendering process. Closing dates for bids is 23rd January 24th February 10th March 2025.
The 13 machines available are:
Plasser & Theurer 09-3X-D-RT Tamper/Liner/DTS
Plasser & Theurer 09-2X-D-RT Tamper/Liner/DTS
Plasser & Theurer USP5000RT Ballast Regulator
Plasser & Theurer USP5000 Ballast Regulator
All machines have Engineering Acceptance and Conformance certification for operation on the GB national railway network. With the exception of DR73118, all machines have seen use during 2024. DR73118 requires repairs to its engine and is fitted with a System7 tamping system.

It is anticipated that towards the end of the year further tenders will include machines from Network Rail's High Output Ballast Cleaning System and Track Relaying System fleets.
