Here is a short round-up of news during March 2025.

Provision of Tamper and Regulator Services

Network Rail has awarded contracts for tamping and regulating services commencing on April 1st 2025 for a period of 8 years to four companies. Colas Rail, Balfour Beatty, SB Rail and VolkerRail have been successful in tendering for the contract.

Looking at forthcoming machine movement schedules it doesn't look like there's any significant change to the regions in which the various companies will be operating, but perhaps it's too early to say!

Geismar (UK) Sell Fleet of PEM and LEM Machines

Due to a downturn in work, Geismar UK have taken the difficult decision to sell their fleet of eighteen PEM 807V telescopic gantry/cranes and associated LEM 460V motorised trolleys. The first batch of machines left for a new life in Denmark during March, with the remainder to leave in due course.
