A round-up of on-track plant, road-railer and trailer news from August 2013.
Amey
One of the two Land Rovers recently advertised for sale (R436XRA) has been acquired by Sir William McAlpine and has moved to the Fawley Hill Railway. It is thought that the other one has also been sold with it but confirmation is required.
G&CA Lee
One of TXM's Case 788P excavators previously stored at Portishead, 940207, has been sold to G&CA Lee and moved to the Statfold Barn Railway in early August.
L&W Contractors
L&W have taken delivery of a new Komatsu PW160 Megarailer from Rexquote. This is the first of its type with powered rail wheels and is numbered 910021.
SPL Powerlines
SPL Powerlines have taken delivery of two more new hydrostatic-drive Platform Basket EVO2 access platforms from Promax Access (912057 and 912058). Ten lightweight Neotec REM trailers have also been delivered (009076-009085 inclusive).
Colmar T10000FS
Two new Colmar T10000FS excavators have arrived at Allan J Hargreaves. #8643 and #8644 are destined for Lundy & Aspin respectively.
Total Rail Solutions
ex Lundy Gators 975040 & 975047 have joined TRS's fleet along with some smaller Permaquip/HTT trailers. They have been refurbished at Fitzgerald Plant Services and now sport a fetching yellow livery.
TRAC Engineering
TRAC have taken delivery of a new 5m trailer from Chieftain. One of an order of six, its first job was in the Bristol area at the end of the month.
