Loram unveil new UK-built Grinder

During September Loram unveiled their new compact RGX-02 two-car grinding unit at the Innotrans exhibition in Berlin. This machine was built at Loram's base in Derby - making it the first ever UK-built rail-grinder. After the show it returned to Derby for completion and testing. When complete, the machine will be available to UK, European and Middle Eastern light, commuter and mainline networks.

Small Machines - Deliveries

A new Robel ROMITAMP 2.0 for Network Rail (Southern)'s Brighton Delivery Unit has been undergoing trials at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. It is specially adapted to work on third-rail lines and fitted with two Plasser & Theurer tamping units capable of tamping up to 400 sleepers per hour.
