Railtex 2009
17th March 2009 - thanks to Ben Williams for this article

The ninth Railtex exhibition of railway technology, equipment and services took place at Earls Court, London, from 10 to 12 March 2009.
Railtex 2009 is the UK’s largest exhibition for the rail industry and brings together some 450 suppliers from around the world, covering all aspects of the market. An interesting show, but not too much plant present again this year.
A Rosenqvist CD500 high output fastclipping machine was the largest item present - numbered 99709-909004-2. It has recently been certified and has Network Rail branding. It looks different to the CD400 machine on display at a Ruddington a few years ago.
On the Bance stand were two trollies - an Ultrasonic 2 seater (064) and 4 seater trolley (138).
Volker Rail had their SkyHigh boom present, now repainted and rebranded and carrying 99709-972006-9.
Finally on the Geismar stand was their Mini 2 seater trolley (M-001 of 2005) - it still looked brand new.

The Rosenqvist CD 500 is operated by System 2 High Output Track Renewals to support stressing. The machine can clip and unclip fastclips at a rate of 1800 metres and hour. It does this by automaticly detecting the fastclip.
The CD 500 at Ruddington a few years ago was the French CD 500 which is not fully automatic. The UK spec machine is fully automatic.
the machine it self is transported to site on a HIAB equiped truck, once at the access point it walks itself onto track.
