September 2009 disposals

30th September 2009

A lot of redundant OTP (mainly Fastline-owned) is currently being cleared...

Hitchin

77312 and 81510 left for Ron Hull's in early September.

York

Ron Hull's are also cutting redundant plant at York, or at least sub-contracting the work to another company. So far only 81538 and 77402 have been positively identified as broken up although 76316, 81506, 81520, 81535, 81546, 98300 and 98302 were notably missing from a 13th September report so these may also now be gone. We await news.

Doncaster Wood Yard

76322 and 81537 were taken by road to Ron Hull's in mid September.

Balfour Beatty

DTS 72212 was exported to Germany via Hull during September.

Preservation

We are told at least one machine at Hitchin may escape the scrapman but because the deal is not yet finalised we cannot mention at present. Watch this space!

This seems to be the situation at York as of last Wednesday - thanks to my contact. Interesting to see that as well as the wagons, 76324 may also be "stranded" inside the wagon shed mid-repair!?

    "Inside old crane shop

98300 looking a bit worse for wear,98302 a little bit better.

76324 not seen light for some time.

I think 76324 has been very recently out on a job, but as a result of on-site ballast trough damage, returned to York again to be lifted to allow repairs. I think now repaired, ready for new "ownership".

I was told the bogies went to LH for new tyres but this was at the beginning of October... and then new "ownership" :)

Ownership, being the transfer of operation and maintenance to Amey Colas.....

One of the RM95 machines did suffer damage to ballast troughs in the last 2 weeks, I'm only guessing it was this machine, as it did leave York to work and then returned (well the one at York was only lifted last week to fix damaged troughs).

Tyres issue may be the support wagons in York that have been in the air for quite some time....
