Summer 2007 updates
17th October 2007
It's been quite a while since the last news update. Not too much has happened - mainly a few preservation movements...
965220
This move has been rumoured for years and finally happened - 965220 moved (with the help of a class 33) from Fort William to Glenfinnan station at the beginning of October.
68808
68808, which was used as a source of spares at the Ecclesbourne Railway, was finally taken away to be scrapped during August.
76217
The scrapping of 76217 at Duddeston pretty much stopped the day I posted the article about it.
81518
This finally moved from Rugby OTPD to Booth's during August. It is suggested that it is for sale, but whether anyone will buy it or not remains to be seen. based on all the other "for sale" OTP at Booths, I predict it will end up scrapped...
98404
At the start of September, this unique machine moved to the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston.
OTPPG
In the middle of March, 68030 moved to Longhoughton in Northumberland, where more restoration work can be done on it.
The group has also acquired it's third machine - another Permaquip Powered Canopy Trolley. 98702, formerly found at the Fawley Hill Railway has joined it's brother, 68706, at Longhoughton too...

More details can be found on the group's (recently revamped) website - www.otppg.org.uk.
Aln Valley Railway
The Aln Valley Railway, also based at Longhoughton has recently acquired an Atlas 1302 road-railer (via eBay!). It's origins are unknown but seems to have come from Belgium..

Great site. Has anyone any idea where the 2 German Kof2 shunters in Balfour Beattie livery that are lying at Millfield engineering in Wooler Northumberland have come from? Will get some phtots and forward them.

I remember seeing them at Balfour Beatty's depot in Ashford. No.50 (ex 323.674.2) and No.51 (ex 323.539.7)

They were stored at Balfour Beatty's Ashford Works after use in construction of the extension to Hong Kong International Airport.

Just to continue from above my two ex Balfour Beatty Koef II locomotives have now moved down from Wooler to Longhougton Goods Yard. Appologies to site admin for being slightly off topic ;)
