Here is a short round-up of on-track plant news during August 2025.

Derby - The Greatest Gathering 2025

At the start of August 2025, Alstom and Railway 200 hosted a long open weekend at Litchurch Lane Works celebrating 200 years of railways. The event presented a rare chance to get close to the Works' Zephir road-rail shunters, view the recently-built Loram RGX02 grinder, and see some Donfabs & Consillia trolleys built nearby.

Ashford Hitachi EMUD - Railway 200 Open Day

South Eastern and Hitachi held an open day at their Ashford depot at the end of August as part of the Railway 200 festivities. Seven On-Track Machines were on display - an unusually high amount for a normal rail open day!

Network Rail Machines Exported

At the end of August the final seven machines offered for sale by Network Rail last year were moved from Harwich Parkeston Yard to Dollands Moor for export.

The move operated by RailAdventure consisted of DR73114, DR73115, DR73117, DR73121, DR73122, DR77906 and DR77907 and were hauled by Swietelsky's 20302 + 20311.
