Long Marston - Rail Live 2025

Rail Live - the UK's largest rail exhibition - was held at Long Marston again during June, with nearly 50 machines on display.

Swietelsky Acquire Network Rail Machines

In the last week of June two pairs of machines were moved from Parkeston Yard to Swietelsky's Worksop depot. DR73116 & DR77909 (25th June) and DR73118 & DR73120 (30th June) were amongst 11 machines offered for sale by Network Rail last year. A few more moves are scheduled for the start of July so keep an eye out...

Tampers - Deliveries

The first pair of Balfour Beatty's four new tampers fitted with electric tamping banks were delivered during June, and they were hauled to West Ealing for commissioning. DR73955 arrived at the start of the month with DR73956 following two weeks later.

Colmar T10000FSC tracked excavator

Van Elle took delivery of their first new Colmar T10000FSC crawler excavators during June, with two more following in due course.

Two new Isuzu D-Max and associated trailers were delivered to Network Rail Wales & West by Fitzgerald Plant Services.

Zephir LOK 16.300 road-rail shunting locomotive

At the end of May fourth new Zephir was delivered to GBRailfreight for use at the Cardiff Celsa steelworks complex.
